What is the difference between POP3 and IMAP?
When setting up your one.com email, you might wonder which protocol to choose for incoming emails: POP or IMAP?
If you opt for IMAP, any modifications that you make to your emails (reading, sorting, deleting…) will be synchronized across all devices your one.com email address is added to. With POP, changes will only be reflected on the device where you downloaded the message. The email will not be available on the other devices (Exception: You opted to leave a copy of the email on the one.com servers).
A general advice is to choose IMAP over POP, as it allows you to access the same emails on multiple devices like smartphones, tablets, and PCs. However, if you have a large mailbox and need to conserve storage capacity, POP might be the better option.
